Job title: Club Development Office (Fixed term 4 year funded post)
Location: Ayr
Hours (per week): Average 17.5 hours per week over 52 weeks but majority of hours over term time. There will be an additional 7.5 hours per week to be reviewed on an annual basis
Salary: £10,920 basic p.a. (£15,600 p.a. with additional hours)

Job Purpose
· The Club Development Officer will increase the visibility of Ayr Storm Basketball Club by delivering coaching to P4-7 and S1/2 within schools in order to attract new members. This will be in a partnership with and co-ordinated alongside Active Schools in South Ayrshire.
· Represent and promote the Club at club/local/regional/national events as required to increase visibility and act as a point of contact.
· Enhance and continuously develop the Club in order to increase the number of players as well as qualified coaches, referees and table officials.
Key Performance Areas
· Work with the club to continuously update and implement the club’s development plan and ensure links to regional development strategy and other national, regional and local strategies for sport/health improvement/social objectives where appropriate.
· Ensure links to secondary schools to create/extend opportunities to play basketball through inclusive programmes for girls and boys, securing extra-curricular court time as required to enhance participation.
Increase Participation
· Aim to increase the club’s membership size each year (targets to be agreed annually)
· Ensure links to local cluster primary and secondary schools to create/extend opportunities to participate in basketball through inclusive programmes within the club’s development sections for girls and boys.
· Organise, coordinate and deliver programmes and events to promote basketball and recruit young people to the sport in the local area.
Partnership Working
· Work with BasketballScotland and club representatives to ensure the club development plan is linked to regional and national plans.
· Work with Active School Coordinators and PE staff to ensure a strong pathway between local primary and secondary schools and the Club.
Coaching
· Deliver coaching sessions that are player-centred, structured, progressive, fun and of high quality to people of all ages.
· Arrange leader, coach and official education and development opportunities for club members
· Work with the club committee and coaches to ensure that there is a clear coaching pathway and support programme in the club.
· Work with the club’s coaches to ensure that coaching is being delivered to an appropriate level and based around national LTPD principles and programmes.
Monitoring and Evaluation, Marketing and Communication
· Record baseline data on club participation /activity and school-club participation.
· Report progress against club development plan key performance indicators.
· Work with existing club volunteers to help prepare newsletters and other marketing and promotional material.
· Work with existing club volunteers to ensure effective links with local press to increase club profile in community.
